Obama Foundation, Former President Barack Obama’s private foundation came with an announcement on Monday that Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos had promised $100 million to donate for the foundation.

Donation to Obama Foundation to honor John Lewis
Jeff Bezos donated $100 million to Obama Foundation to honor civil rights leader John Lewis, who died last year. In return for this donation, Bezos asked the foundation to name a plaza at the Obama Presidential Center after John Lewis. The center which is going to be built in Chicago would include a library, a museum, an athletic center, and more.

Other Donations to Obama Foundation before $100 million by Jeff Bezos
Before this $100 million donation from Jeff Bezos, the Obama Foundation has the largest donation of $50 million. Each from Mark Walter, the Chief Executive of Guggenheim Partners; Glenn Hutchins, a founder of Silver Lake Partners; and Connie Ballmer, the Philanthropist, and wife of Steve Ballmer, the former Microsoft Chief Executive Mr. Hutchins, and Ms. Ballmer also serve on the foundation’s board.
This donation, in honor of the late Congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis, will help expand the scope of programming that reaches emerging leaders in the United States and around the world.
