 1) Tanmay Bhatt on Vir Das Controversy

When two words like comedy and controversy come in one line, the first name that comes to mind is Tanmay Bhatt. Tanmay has a big hand in taking laughter and pranks seriously in India. He had a company named AIB. Big credit goes to this company for revolutionizing the Indian comedy scene. Well, AIB organized an event called Roast in Mumbai.

It was attended by well-known celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Vir, and Karan Johar. Big names like Anurag Kashyap, Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha were spotted in the audience. But as soon as this roast was completed, there was a flurry of FIRs against Tanmay Bhatt and his company.

After this, in 2016, Tanmay made a video related to Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar. In this video, it was shown that Sachin and Lata are roasting each other. In this process, very ugly jokes were made about these two veterans. BJP leader Ashish Shelar complained about this to the Police Commissioner of Mumbai. After which an inquiry was ordered against Tanmay.

2) Kunal Kamra on Vir Das Controversy

Kunal Kamra is a stand-up comic. In fact, he does observational comedy. But he is more known for his political bits. He talks about hyper-nationalism in his sets. criticize the government. Because of this, he had to face difficulties many times. In 2017, a clip of his video went viral on social media.

The name of this video was Patriotism & The Government. In this video, Kunal talked about the issue of anti-nationals. In this video, he was basically saying that if anyone talks against the government, then he is called anti-national. This thing is increasing with time. In between, he was also talking about the role of the government in this culture.

3) Munavwar Farooqui on Vir Das Controversy

Munawwar Farooqui does satirical comedy. At the end of 2020, Munavvar went on the All-India Tour. During this, he was going to perform in different cities of the country. He had a show in Indore on January 1, 2021. His show running at the Monroe Cafe was stopped midway.

All this was done by Eklavya Singh Gaur, son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur, who is part of Hind Rakshak Sangathan. Munavwar was accused of making indecent remarks on Hindu gods and goddesses and India’s Home Minister Amit Shah. On January 2, Munavwar was arrested in this case. On January 3, the police said that no video of him insulting the deities was found.
