World’s Largest Tiranga of Khadi on Gandhi Jayanti
The 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is Gandhi Jayanti, along with “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” considering India’s 75 years of independence. People are celebrating it uniquely.
The flag unveiled in Leh set the new record for the world’s largest flag. As it was an Indian tricolor that is Tiranga, every Indian must be feeling proud of this moment. The weight of this flag was 1000 kg. The most important thing is that this flag is handwoven and made of khadi. On Saturday, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and the 75th anniversary of the independence of India. This was a new and unique idea to celebrate this occasion differently.
Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur unleashed the national flag. Chief of Army Staff General M M Naravane and GOC in C Northern Command Lieutenant General Y K Joshi are also attending the event. Lieutenant General PGK Menon, GOC, Fire and Fury crops, and Othe military officials were also present.
The reason behind holding this grand ceremony was the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Is the government is celebrating “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” on the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, so it was apparent to celebrate this also?
Gandhi Jayanti: Details of Kadhi Flag in Leh-
The flag is nearly 225 feet by 150 feet, which is quietly significant. The second most important thing is that this flag is made in India itself. This Khadi flag weighed 1000 kg.
The chief guest of the program addresses the gathering of about 500 people, including army personnel and officials from Indian defense. NCC cadets and school children were also added to them.

Khadi Flag from Mumbai –
The World’s Largest Tiranga was manufactured by Khadi dyers and printers based in Mumbai. These people are associate with the Khadi village and industries commission.
The Sura-Soi engineer regiment was carrying the responsibility of bringing the national flag from Mumbai to Leh. Setting the banner at the top of the mountain for the unveiling ceremony was not an easy task.
As we all know, Gandhiji spends most of his time weaving using Charkha. So this was somehow possible to celebrate the event in such a unique way.
